TheAthleticsDepartment.com announces the addition of all-district, all-state and all-region teams for tennis and golf.
This announcement comes after the success of adding cross country honor teams in the fall. TheAthleticsDepartment.com has always displayed and archived the honor teams selected by coaches, the media and coaches association. It’s expanding its promotion of the success of Texas student-athletes by creating all-district, all-region and all-state teams for tennis and golf. These are two individual sports that don’t have coach-voted teams for all districts.
TheAthleticsDepartment.com teams will be noted with the “TAD” organization on TheAthleticsDepartment.com honors pages. TheAthleticsDepartment.com will display any coach-voted teams submitted in these sport as well as the TAD lists.
In golf, the top five individuals at the district tournament earn first team all-district honors; the next five are second team all-district; and the remaining golfers on a team advancing to the next round, but not finishing in the Top 10 are honorable mention. This same format is used for all-region and all-state.
In tennis, any player reaching the semifinals of the district, regional and state tournaments earned first-team honors. There is no second team or honorable mention for tennis.
