The Athletics Department.com keeps high school sports fans in touch with their athletes whether its honors while in high school or when they advance to the next level.
We’ve replaced our NCAA Division I college signings lists with NCAA Division I college athletes lists. We add sports as they come into season. Currently, we have women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s soccer and cross country names.
You can see the college roster on the team pages; see the list of college athletes from a particular Texas high school on the high school page, high school team page and school district page; as well as seeing the list from a geographical perspective on the sport pages

The registered portion is built for the media in need of multiple years of honor teams and playoffs information. The registered portion will also have a coaches directory. For one subscription fee, you can have access to honor teams, playoffs archives, a coaches directory and specialty reports like honor teams and playoff pairings.

HometownSportsNews.net launched in 2007 taking high school sports headlines from around the state and putting them in one place. Grace Media wanted a way to keep up-to-date with what was happening in Texas High School sports as well as promote the high school sports coverage from around the state. HometownSportsNews.net also made sure to offer headlines from media outlets without a pay wall.
HometownSportsNews.net was Grace Media’s first home for Texas high school playoffs schedules and scores; all-district teams and regional track, tennis and golf schedules and results. These features have all moved to TheAthleticsDepartment.com.
In 2013, the number of media outlets covering Texas high school sports without requiring a subscription greatly diminished. Combined with the fact HometownSportsNews.net never recovered its audience after a 2011 hacking incident halted the site for two months, it seems like a perfect time to cease the site.
We’ll keep the site active until we find a permanent spot for the archives, if there is a need.
TheAthleticsDepartment.com has been displaying state playoffs scores and schedules on TheAthleticsDepartment.com since the 2011-2012 school year.
We’ve updated the pages, so that you can look at the results in a grid by date. Or you can see the tournament schedule and results more like you see it in the newspaper _ ordered by round and region.
Check out the qualifier’s tab. This tab is updated as we learn who has qualified for the playoffs. As soon as a game has a date it shows up on the games tab. On the tournament schedule pages you can see the next round matchups before the game date has been set.
The launch is just in time for the baseball and softball playoffs. The tournament schedule makes it easy to see when a team is playing a one-game playoff or a best-of-three series.
Grace Media has posted schedules and results for the UIL Regional meets since the 2009-2010 school year on HometownSportsNews.net. Grace Media has moved playoffs and all-districts from HometownSportsNews.net to TheAthleticsDepartment.com. The Regional meet schedule and results is yet another addition to TheAthleticsDepartment.com.
TheAthleticsDepartment.com keeps a coaches directory and as a result can track coaching changes across the state. On each sports section as well as each school page, you can see head coaching changes for the 2012-2013 school year. The page displays the names of the new and old coach. Football begins showing the coaching changes for the 2013-14 school year beginning now. The other sports will begin showing 2013 coaching changes beginning July 1.
